Scholarship to honor
Drew Gordon and Alice Flink
The Drew Gordon - Alice Flink Scholarship for Dance Fund is
being established, in part, to honor the memory of the brilliant and buoyant
Drew Gordon, who served as the Musician in Residence for the Dance Program
at the University of Minnesota for more than 20 years. Drew's stellar talent
as a pianist was matched by his charming personality and his passionate commitment
to his students.
The Drew Gordon - Alice Flink Scholarship for Dance will identify prospective students who, like Drew, have devoted themselves to the study of music as well as dance. It will encourage the exploration of excellence in the exchange between embodied art and the musician, with the additional goal of enlightening musicians to the field of dance musicianship. By creating a scholarship in Drew's name, we remember this great artist and dear friend of the University of Minnesota's Dance Program.
